BLOCKS artist statement

In April I sold my beloved business of 9 years, HEYDAY, in order to listen to a whisper in my heart. While I am still exploring the mystery of it all, I would love to take you on the journey into the call of the wild I named BLOCKS, a releasing of judgements and fears and an embracing of myself and my worthiness.

Into uncharted territory, I would embark upon a spiritual journey of self-discovery, creativity and play. Taking leaps and bounds because I believe it’s possible to step into the unknown, pour my heart into the discovery process, live with ease and work hard for that which I believe. Exactly where it is taking me, I don’t know, but I am going.

BLOCKS is a summer spent conversing with God in the woods, in the studio garage, during 5am wakeup calls, through pages of writing, painting slowly and vigorously, juxtaposing color in unexpected ways and bringing wonder to the canvas. With intuition as my guide, these beautiful, heart-felt works revealed themselves to me much like life does. Each day listening to the vibrations in my body, answering the call of my heart, looking for treasures and watching for signs all brought me closer to the clarity of who I am here to be. The creation process, painting, drawing, mixing color, lets it all settle. 

Every day I feel more understanding about my purpose. We are all here together, one, to step fully into ourselves with no hesitations. When I follow my heart, it helps you follow yours.  

Maybe we don’t have to release the blocks but rather step toward them with curiosity to reveal our magical and mysterious journey.
